NEW RESIDENT LETTER
The Braddock Hills Borough Council, Mayor, Police Department and Fire Department would like to welcome you to the Braddock Hills Community.
The Borough’s office phone number is 412-241-5080. The Police Emergency phone number is 911. All non-emergency police matters should be directed to 412-371-1616. The Borough’s web page can be found at http://svcog.org/bradh.html. We would like to bring to your attention the following matters of interest:
If you are performing any type of repairs, renovations or alterations to your home or property, the Borough requires that you obtain a Building Permit. You can obtain an application and pay the required fee at the Borough’s offices. The application will be reviewed by the Borough’s Building Inspector.
When refinancing, selling or purchasing your home, the Borough requires that you obtain certain tax and lien certifications and reports. These include a municipal lien letter ($50.00), a 3-year tax certification by the Tax Collector ($30.00), dye test for ($25.00) and occupancy inspection ($20.00). An occupancy inspection is required only when you’re are buying or selling a home. An occupancy inspection is required for rental of any property. Before a new tenant can move into a house, an occupancy inspection must be completed by the Building Inspector.
The Borough currently charges $110.00 per year for residential garbage collection. If you pay the full amount at one time, you receive a $5.00 discount. Pennsylvania Municipal Service (PAMS) bills the resident for this service on a quarterly basis. The current quarterly fee is $27.50. The Borough does not currently recycle.
You must notify PAMS that you are a new resident so that the appropriate wage tax can be collected. If you have forms from your employer that need verification that you are a resident of Braddock Hills and are paying wage tax, you must go to PAMS located at 2600 Ardmore Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15221 (412-829-0567). They will handle completing the forms for you.
Our Real Estate Tax Collector is Betty Ann Horvath. Her hours at the Borough Office are Fridays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. If you need to call her, please call 412-241-5080 and press 3.
If you are operating any type of business in the Borough, you may be subject to the Borough’s Business Privilege Tax or Mercantile Tax. Please contact PAMS at 412-829-0567 to obtain the appropriate forms and information relative to these taxes.
We would also like to invite you to attend our monthly Borough Council Meetings. They are held the second Thursday of each month.
